😐 Underwhelming Sharp Action This Year
To start, I’ve gotta say—I’m underwhelmed by the sharp volume and action in the MLB futures market this year.
Usually, at least one championship-related futures bet emerges as a “medium” sharp buy. Not this season. Why? A couple of theories:
- Sharps are chalk-heavy: They might believe the top three teams are most likely to win but aren’t seeing value in betting them at current prices.
- Long shots are buried: While some underdogs may offer value, the heavy chalk betting has skewed the odds and squeezed out upside on the long shots.
Bottom line? Nothing’s jumping off the board.
💰 Best World Series Buy (Small)
The cleanest World Series buy, in my opinion—though small—is:
➡️ Houston Astros +2000 to win the World Series
Not something I’d load up on, but if you want to hold a lottery ticket that’s not trash, this is it.
🧭 Best Overall Futures Play: Divisional Betting
Here’s where things finally get interesting…
🏆 Atlanta Braves +110 to win the NL East
This is, hands down, the best futures bet I see on the board. I’d classify this as a medium-sized wager, almost large. It’s rare to get this kind of value on the Braves in a division they typically dominate.
📈 Regular Season Win Totals
I don’t usually mess too much with the small-win-total bets—they’re a grind. But there are two medium-sized plays I’m behind:
- Philadelphia OVER 90.5 wins (+100)
- Seattle UNDER 85.5 wins (+100)
Beyond that, there are a dozen or so small-edge plays, but again… grinding small totals isn’t my style.
🤖 Hermes Elite A.I. Insights
Curious what Hermes Elite A.I. spit out for top MLB futures?
Chicago Cubs +115 to win the NL Central
📊 Hermes Score: 37
Yeah… not exactly Earth-shattering. The top score being a 37 tells you just how soft the futures market is this season from a sharp money perspective.
🍻 Here’s to a Winning Season
It may be a lukewarm futures board, but that doesn’t mean we won’t find gold in the margins. The Braves division bet and a couple of win totals are solid ways to get the season rolling.
Let’s cash some futures and enjoy the grind.
